STEEMIT REVIEW AND TIPS FOR BEGINNERS πŸ’‘

in review β€’Β  7 years agoΒ  (edited)

How to start?

First, rest. Look around, fill your profile with content, make interesting, upload a good picture. Try all the buttons, nothing can go wrong. The wallet shows $ 5, so far.

Read the FAQ, skim the white paper, do not take it all seriously, it is already very old and not up to date. Look at different posts, look at the comments, the votes and the payout made. Do nothing but look, do not vote or make any comments, look around in peace for 2 days.

What additional pages are important?

Pictures are best to upload on http://www.steemimg.com/. Make sure that they are public and can be displayed by Steemit. Facebook images can only be linked if they are public, but it must be absolutely your own pictures I recommend to delete them at FB and upload to http://www.steemimg.com/ new.
Make sure you do not post protected images without a link, it will not be tolerated.

https://steemit.chat/home The chat is in Steemit on a separate page, he is not integrated in Steemit! Sign up, find the English channel and introduce yourself. You can ask questions there and get answers, dare you it's all in vain and everyone wants to help you.

https://steemcalculator.github.io/votingpower/ This page is important for your voting power, you can not make an infinite number of votes, the power of your votes is almost zero anyway and not so important for the beginning. And over night, it always regenerates back to 100%, pure magic :)

https://steemd.com/@schamangerbert This site gives you all the details about posts and votes, you can view everything and draw your conclusions. After the @ your name and go.
Of course, there are hundreds of other sites, but for starters that should be enough.

How do I post correctly?

Your first post is your presentation post! Nothing else! This post should be as good as possible. So at least 2 pictures, best one with slip in hand and today's date on it. So you verify yourself as a human being. This is very important!
Then to the content: Who are you, what are you doing, what will you write about, hobbies, language skills and so on. Make no novel out of it, but also no sticky note.

The formatting of posts is very easy with a few control characters:

** make the text bold, in front of and behind the text without spaces
__ as well.
or _ make it oblique, before and after the text without spaces
#
is the largest headline down to ###### the smallest headline, with spaces before the text.
Links are set like this:! [Text to link](link to image)

You see the result immediately below the input mask, play with spaces and empty lines if it is not formatted as you want it.
Below the text input is still a field for the tags: This is very important !!!

The first day must be "introduceyourself". Set all 5 tags, these are the categories where your post appears. Here you can see which tags already exist: https://steemit.com/tags
If you write in other language than english, always put the "Language" tag first, so that the same language community becomes aware of you and promotes you.

The title and the first line of the text are displayed in the small preview in the feed, the first image in your post becomes a thumbnail for your post. So make sure that everything looks good.

Only when the preview exactly matches your expectations, all images are displayed, the formatting is clicked you press the "Post" button and your first post goes online. You can edit it for 24 hours, so do not panic if the bugger has regained access.

What content is required?

The list with the tags gives you an overview of the number of posts in the individual categories. According to your interests you look at some posts in these categories and try your luck. Do not exaggerate it, a good post every 2 days is better than 4 mediocre every day. Plagiarism will be mercilessly punished, even if it's own content from your homepage, write it something around then it should go.

What are the secrets of the wallet?

As a newbie, do not be crazy about the winnings, see it as a long-term investment and convert the Steem to Steempower, that goes immediately and gives you more power when voting.
The SteemDollar can also be converted to Steempower, but takes 3.5 days.

To pay out, there are some tutorials, I have not done it yet and did not even make it so fast. Does not bring anything, it is better to put the profits back into the system and get more weight. By the way: Everything here is public, the posts, the Brieftaschen, just everything.

Good post! I figured most of this out on my own when I first started, but your post would have helped me. I think you could have gone more into detail of the paying system and how it works, because that's most confusing for newbies in my opinion (was for me at least).

Thank you. I'm glad that it helped you @eathlingvera ! Upvoted.

Sign up, find the German channel and introduce yourself.

Why should we all sign up for the German channel? Something interesting going on there?

Or the language you speak.

Sign up, find the English channel and introduce yourself. You can ask questions there and get answers, dare you it's all in vain and everyone wants to help you.

So which ist the English channel?
They are almost all in English!!

but if it's in vain, why should I do it? It doesn't make sense!!

Nice try, using Google translate for some text part originally writing in the German language!!!

I agree with you as a newbie one shouldn't even think about withdrawing, in fact one should invest Steem to Steempower that's the right way.
