Motorcycle Travel Series by @velimir 'Bojan's Moto Workshop' (Part #182)

in review •  7 years ago  (edited)

Bojan is my friend who owns the coolest bike workshop in Zagreb. His speciality is remodelling and customizing all sorts of motorbikes. With raising reputation, he is mostly working on expensive HDs for a long time now. We are friends for quite some time and he likes when I drop by for a coffee. Entering his domain is like entering a different world. A world of seriously rare-looking motorcycles.

I love to come here in-between my travels and take pics of awesome bikes. Luckily, he doesn't mind me storming all over the place. Take a look at this beauty. When close to such a machine, horsepowers and momentum and displacement all become unimportant. One just stares at the lines, customized parts, the way they fit one another, outside finish and of course, the overall feeling.

The design aspect, as you very well know if you've been following my blog, I can understand far better than tech specs (even though I am not a complete Cinderella, either). :D I believe there is a lot of art in customizing bikes. If not a part of this beautiful subculture, a person can hardly believe that.

Take a look at these three front lights. They must seriously brighten up the road in the night. One light is not enough because one cannot see curves well. I learned that a hard way already. I heavily underestimated the day's length a few years back and ended up riding dark narrow roads for several hours. It didn't feel like much! Wouldn't mind having these on my bike if I ride more in night conditions.

The soul of every bike is always the engine. This is where the heart is ticking and it is always the first part of a bike I pay attention to. No idea as to why. It is just so. :)

A very specific-looking muffler-ending. I like it very much on this bike because it fits very well to the overall design.

The break-plate. Such an important part regarding safety.

So... Don't you just want to just turn the ignition key and ride this beauty far, far away?

I so do! :)

Enjoy your day! :)

Springer is my favorite. :) Looks amazing :)

wowo how you can make this great post all the time man ?

I don't sleep much. :D

Well, even though motor cycles really aren't my thing, I do have to tell you I love the photos you took!

:))) Everybody says that before he/she sits on one and rides for 10 minutes ;)

Haha, maybe so! I think you might have a good point there, though I'd find it scary at first. I've been on the back of scooters, which was quite scary. Though driving one yourself will probably be less scary eventually. Being in control and all...

Exactly so! :) The wish for to feel the freedom of open road comes first, the rest follows naturally. It is a completely different thing than driving a car. Try it ;) Slowly at first, though!

I have always dreamed of riding a motorcycle, but my wife wouldn't let me do so. BTW reading your article made me wish more.

man.. you should let nobody tell you what to do or not do. wife or no wife, your life is yours and only yours to live.

I know what you mean. However, it might ve because if cultural difference. In my culture, it is very hard to say no to wife. But I also guess there may be personal difference, too.

Cant wait to start riding again,
had a accident in februari and still recovering...
Thanks for the great series to read while i sit at home tho! :)

Oh man, so sad to hear. Hope you ll get better soon!

I would love a bike like that, but I don't trust myself to drive safely. Would probably kill myself, so best to stick with cars I think.

I agree. One better not ride a bike if in doubt.

I fully support you, moto culture is not just motorcycles and riding, but it's something big, it's as part of life to which you become attached and live it.
as always you presented wonderful photos, very familiar. Lucky you have such a friend.
Thank you

this harley is very very sexy,,,,,

Very beautiful photos. You are making everybody attracted to bikes :) Unfortunately I dont know how to ride them, but would be great to ride a nice one like that :)

What would it feel like riding this beauty at 200 km/hr.
The DNA (colour/shade) of your photos are cool.
Beautiful photos.

Very scary probably ;)

Your post is GREAT! The pictures of the re-modelled bikes are awesome. The multi- full lightings is a new innovation that will rule the world. I follow and upvote you.

I LOVE your photography. I am new here and I don't understand how to get people to see my posts i.e to follow me so that they can read. I did a post on cultural photography. It's really beautiful Pakistan's recycling art which was well received on facebook and twitter etc. Can you guide me how to make sure that my quality blogs are seen more on steemit? Thank you

uh... :D
