Champagne cocktail review

in review •  3 years ago

Over the weekend I attended a party, and was presented with a champage cocktail.

It was made from three ingrediënts: champagne, elderflower liqueur and lemon juice. (1 cl of lemon juice 2 cl of elderflower liqueur and than fill the glass with champagne)

It was a delicious cocktail, however, to my taste, it was somewhat too sweet, and I might have gone for 1.5cl of both the liqueur and the lemon juice, to give it a bit more acidity.

THat being said, it was fresh, it was delicious and well received by all the people present. (For the drivers, and abstainers, there was al alternative version based on elderflower syrup, and non-alcoholic cava, I did not taste this one, but apparently it was well received as well.

(Ofcourse you can substitute champagne for other sparkling wines, I would go for a brut version, and not for sweeter interpretations, again since the liqueur in itself already imparts a lot of sweetness)

Cheers
