ecided to buy a couple of things from the store this weekend. It is Memorial Day Weekend in America after all, Monday being the Holiday. Not that I am a hardcore celebrator on the matter, but obviously it is a bit of a patriotic time in which we should show some gratitude.
Anyway, was at the store and saw a wine that was on sale at the usually overpriced pharmacy. It's amazing the sales they have sometimes. Everything's a dollar more than it should be normally - and when they realize it won't sell they reverse the trend and go a dollar and a half below market price. That's the only reason I go there.
Next to the bottle of wine you will see another drink. Not sure what to say about this drink. It piqued my interest, though.
It is a bit coincidental or funny if you look at the backside of the can in the picture below. Once I saw that, I knew I had to try it.
I had never heard of MCT oil and may have heard of nootropics once or twice. The drink claims to provide "brain support". I really just bought it because I like to try new things.
Taste-wise, I would say it was like coconut sparkling water with a bit of an artificial sweetener taste.
It kind of blew my mind that the can contained 21,000% of the daily value of Vitamin B12. Would seem like that would be bad for a person, but guess not (granted you aren't slamming a 6 pack of these...or even 2-3 cans).
After drinking, I'd say I felt more alert. It was kind of hard to tell because I take nerve pain medication and half way through drinking the can I had started on a glass of (the pictured) wine. 😏
Now, the wine. I'm not exactly a wine connoisseur. I'd like to convince myself I am, but I'm simply not.
My novice assessment:
It was a dry wine, but not too dry. Had kind of a bitterness to it...but again, not too bitter. Red wine, berries taste, with just a tiny hint of sweetness. Maybe a slight flowery taste.
Then, of course, I used a coffee mug to drink the wine from. There are probably wine enthusiasts somewhere who would kill me for this.
The wine was only, I think, $4.75 USD or so. The "brain support" can was the price of most energy drinks - not what I'd prefer to pay, but I bought it for the experience.
Without knowing wines very well, I'd give the wine a 6 out of 10 rating and the can a 7.5 rating because I thought it was unique and I did feel more alert afterwards.
Ultimately, I don't necessarily drink all that often. Some of that is a product of circumstance. Just depends, really. Some people have a routine where they might (for example) go to a bar/pub on a Wednesday and have 6-7 beers - I wouldn't say I have that.
Well, that's all I have for you today folks. I'm positive I'll do more reviews of wines or some form of alcohol in the future on occasion - as well as energy drinks or random things. As always, thank you for following along. It means a lot. See you next time.

Is Nootropics something you are familiar with? I'm quite a bit ignorant of it.

Have read good things about them but not an expert. Their long term safety is another area of concern.

Interesting review @lionsmane 😉 but I don't drink any alcoholic beverages except one in my cough syrup😂😂 but then my religion teacher scold me for being addicted to that syrup..so I just drink soy ketchup and lime juice to subtitute it... 😂😂😂 I can't imagine how the taste of any wines.. but I love berries and grape's juice the most😊.

It helps me reduced the cough and the taste is not as good as the anti-cough syrup 😊 but it works. I used the salty soy ketchup.. though I can use the sweet soy ketchup too which has good taste but for different kind of cough. The salty one is like an expectorant☺

that's really interesting...also had no idea there was a thing such as sweet soy sauce. When I think of soy sauce, all I think of is saltiness

For the benefit of others, I'll just mention again that Lion's mane is a type of fungi/mushroom. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hericium_erinaceus - I think I've seen it wild once.

Hericium erinaceus
Hericium erinaceus (also called lion's mane mushroom, monkey head mushroom, bearded tooth mushroom, satyr's beard, bearded hedgehog mushroom, pom pom mushroom, or bearded tooth fungus) is an edible and medicinal mushroom belonging to the tooth fungus group. Native to North America, Europe and Asia it can be identified by its long spines (greater than 1 cm length), its appearance on hardwoods and its tendency to grow a single clump of dangling spines. Hericium erinaceus can be mistaken for other species of Hericium, all popular edibles, which grow across the same range. In the wild, these mushrooms are common during late summer and fall on hardwoods, particularly American beech.

Always nice to have a useful bot.
Though it would be even better if it had included the picture.

I don't drink many random drinks like that anymore. So good job giving it a try that count was crazy for b12 but pretty sure your body just absorbs what it can and passes the rest. Have a good one.
