The Book of Proverbs in its wisdom teaches or describes what the path of sin consists of, a problematic, destructive path, and with uncertain results. The writer of the sapiential book, probably King Solomon, did this not with the intention of instilling fear or panic, but to highlight the importance of the opposite path, the path of righteousness and the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion).
Wisdom is not only something beautiful or desirable, or something typical of those who have achieved spiritual perfection and the vision of God, but being the same science of God, it has the objective of teaching that no one is beyond good and evil, and as the Book of Psalms teaches: "For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction" Psalm 1:6.
This is how the Book of Proverbs describes fools:
"They are constant liars,
signaling their deceit with a wink of the eye,
a nudge of the foot, or the wiggle of fingers.
Their perverted hearts plot evil,
and they constantly stir up trouble" Proverbs 6:12-14.
As the wise man clearly taught in his book, peace and empathy are not virtues of the fool, which is why beyond the calculations that these types of people always make, surprises are always lurking, because each person makes his calculations according to his own convenience.
This is why the wise man concluded with a teaching on the reward of fools:
"Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant;
he will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy" Proverbs 6:15.
It is true that in the modern world, there are many self-help books, religions, and various philosophies, but ultimately there is nothing more perfect than wisdom, and those who forget its recommendations cannot triumph in the fight for life.
