We need to do something more

in rewardpoolrape •  7 years ago

It's been some time now since I wrote my open letter to haejin, and I'm quite certain that he didn't see it, as he didn't flag even the tiny reward it got. Well things have continued to get worse since that time, and I am seeing more and more people, minnows and dolphins speaking out publicly about haejin's abuse.

I've thought for quite some time that there is something that can be done to at least slow down what he is doing, and that of course is to use Steemit the way that it was designed to be used. What I mean by that, is to use our flags, just like they were meant to be used.

Of course, it's easy to say that, it's simple right? When you consider the thought of haejin revenge flagging you though, it gets a little bit more difficult right.

The thing is, as many have mentioned before, that there is power in numbers.

It has been suggested by some that if enough minnows and dolphins come together, and make a coordinated flag on perhaps just one of haejin's posts, we really could make a difference, and we really could show him and the community that we don't agree with what he is doing.

We need enough numbers though. Enough to make sure that he couldn't possibly retaliate against everyone.

There will be some who get hit of course, but there already are a lot of folks flagging him and getting hit anyhow.

I propose we start to communicate, and coordinate.

If you are interested in working together, please leave me a comment. I think in order for this to work we need at least 200 people firmly on board.

If you are interested in stopping this, in being part of letting him know that the community does not agree with the way he is acting on this platform, let me know in the comments. My proposal is that we start a community of folks who are willing to take the risk, sign up to a steemauto account under a communal name, and use one post per day to flag haejin.

Once we get enough people together we can start to take action, and start to take back our community.

Good on you for continuing to speak out. I didn't read your open letter, but I would like to. Also there are some starting to gather here: https://discord.gg/7qdM2rr Please join!

Thank you @lyndsaybowes, I'm glad to see some more people coming out publicly in the community. I started this profile in the hopes that it could become a rallying point for those who are willing to gather as a community and let him know that we are opposed to his abuse. I'll be joining that discord channel for sure!

Perfect, I'm glad we met! xo

I'm not much for coordination or community organization based on opposition to some guy who writes technical analysis piffle.

But I'm all about challenging bad information and ideas with good information and ideas.

No, Technical Analysis is Not a "Quantum Event" - Part 1

So I'm parsing out the completely flabbergasting and absurdly weird ideas that Mr. Lee has promoted as his underlying understanding of technical analysis.

I really don't care much about making money or the reward pool or whatever.

I just don't want vulnerable people reading his calls/advice/predictions/posts and then making investing decisions based on those, because the foundation for his entire system is...well...it's pseudo-scientific jargon-laden bunkum.

And no legal disclaimer at the bottom of a post can change the fact that they are intended for public consumption and make all types of strong implications that following the guidance of his posts can be beneficial to his followers.

Some people might have actually received some benefit from this too...I know a bunch of people who have taken homepathic medicines and then their illnesses went away.

Because of luck.

I also know a lot of people who only used homeopathic medicine to their detriment. More of these kinds of people than the one's who benefitted.

Because homeopathy doesn't work at any probability greater than "luck."

And neither does Mr. Lee's analysis.
