Rhapsodist Writing Contest #3 – Write a Stream of Consciousness Piece from the Worst Nightmare You Have Ever Had

The third challenge of the Rhapsodist Writing Contest is to write a stream of consciousness piece during the worst nightmare you have ever had. For some inspiration, please check out the YouTube clip below What it’s Like to Experience Schizophrenic Symptoms. This is a first-person, point-of-view video featuring what a person with schizophrenia experiences during a psychotic episode (break from reality).

Good luck to all the participating authors. I look forward to reading some incredible flash fiction.

Big thumbs up

@raghwendra thanks for taking some time to support this contest. I am looking forward to growing it out much larger. Looking forward to growing the fiction community here.

Great contest. What is the price?

@positivesteem there is no cost to enter and two prizes are being awarded. The winner will be awarded a prize of 10 SBDs and the runner up will be awarded a prize of 5 SBDs.

The goal of these weekly contests are twofold: to stretch the current crop of fiction writers on Steemit beyond their comfort zone, perhaps inspiring some new content and encourage those who may not think they are writers to throw their hat in the ring and surprise themselves.

Not long ago Steemit had a very vibrant community of fiction writers producing chapter novels and long-form stories. Unfortunately most of that community disappeared with HF 19. I hope this contest will encourage short form flash fiction to come back to the platform, and I have some ideas how to do something similar for long form fiction as well at a later time.

Until some more regular participants begin to compete, the focus needs to remain on growing this contest more. Thanks for supporting it.

Do keep up the good work. Do visit my profile. I just got back from my Trans Mongolia Adventure . Trans-Mongolia Adventure : Frolicking In Idyllic Village Of Khuzir

thats way too great....you are so generous .....

@amanrazz I'm looking to grow out the fiction writing community here on Steemit. Once upon a time Steemit had a series of chapter stories being written, and a thriving community of fiction writers, but with HF 19, most of them disappeared . I'm hoping to grow out this flash fiction contest in a way where consistent rewards can e doled out to bring back some of what has disappeared.

Good luck to all participants, support with upvote and resteem this contest as usually. You already have my story, @lpfaust )

Learn some new from your post. Love to read it.

Rhapsodist Writing Challenge is the best contest on steemit till now :)

@steemphotography I'm glad your enjoying the challenge, but I would have to say there are a few very killer challenges here on Steemit for other subjects I do love. I think in the end each of us are simply trying to attract ad build a much larger, more diverse pool of content for the platform to help it become something more mainstream.

That being said, I am looking forward to having more participate in these weekly contests. As the number of participants increases and more rewards flow in, I plan to grow out the prize pool and promote the posts to get more widespread awareness. Outside of whale support to push the post up the trending page, a long, slow grassroots campaign is how it's going to have to happen and I'm fine with that.

Thanks for supporting these weekly contests. I appreciate it.

don't worry friend i will resteem this and other post too and hope for a good participation :)
