Poem/Short Story: Eternal Winter

in rhyme •  7 years ago

Awoken from his slumber,
a crimson haired mistress calling his number.
Dazzled by her fiery beauty,
he hesitantly accepted her call of duty.
So let the adventure begin,
for this scruffy wanderer in pale skin.

Cursed with untamable power with an unknown history,
most of his memories are clouded in mystery.
But flashes of his forgotten past,
have begun to bring back his memories at last.
Eventually it shall return,
and his personal tragedy he shall learn.

But for now he’s the Demon of Winter,
his aura of cold so intense armies splinter.
A horrific reaper's touch,
to which body heat doesn’t amount to much.
Leaving foes frozen to the bone,
he’s the new king of his frozen throne.

But he is no King without people to rule,
his proud race comparable to a decaying ghoul.
For so long he was lost in that blizzard,
his heart and blood went cold like a lizard.
But now he has seen his kind in rusty chains,
a new new urge is boiling in his once icy veins.

One and a half centuries had passed,
in which time his homeland did not last.
The Great Moss had turned to a tundra,
by just one foolish child's simple blunder.
So now this demon seeks redemption,
rewriting his mistakes; he hopes for exemption.

As old memories return to his mind,
his curse have become more refined.
But with no family, no friends, no home.
Well he forever be forced to roam?
Throw away these doubts; she orders,
this Flames words destroy his mind's borders.
Her eyes glow with vigor and rage,
with her he knows; that he shall walk onto his final stage.
