Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman left Thursday night's game with an Achilles injury that has been confirmed as a rupture by head coach Pete Carroll, per Seahawks reporter John Boyle. He's out for the season.
Sherman confirmed on Twitter he is facing an absence, but will work hard to get back "faster and stronger than ever."
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Sherman could be seen on the NBC broadcast telling linebacker Bobby Wagner he thought his Achilles was "torn" after exiting the game.
Gregg Bell of the News Tribune shared Sherman's post-game comments where the cornerback revealed his Achilles was bothering him since the game against the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 8. He "figured it would rupture eventually but wanted to keep playing for Seahawks teammates," Bell noted.
