Death in another universe.
Possibly by a zombified version of yourself infected with a maniacal sentient parasite under orders from a shadow organization whose only aim is protect the secret at the heart of their world.
Ah, the things that are possible with parallel worlds.
But actually, the idea of outlandish worlds that are like ours but bizarrely different isn't all that outlandish. In fact, according to the laws of physics as we currently understand them, it's an inevitable fact.
That's right.
It's not just a wacky theory or some outlandish, unprovable, fiction. When you understand our current understanding of the universe, the idea of these worlds (yes, even the ones in Rick and Morty) becomes obvious and inevitable.
The idea of a universe that repeats itself in never-ending, endlessly varied way is referred to as the multiverse. You see, our current understanding of physics tells us that the universe is of infinite length in every direction from any given point in it (or, at the very least, incalculably large).
This means that, inevitably, every configuration of atoms and molecules will happen, including many that are just extremely slight variations on one another. That means that there is an entire part of the multiverse where everything about this world, it's people, it's history, and current events are all the same except that you decided to have a burrito for breakfast this morning. This means that there would have to be a world where everyone looked like some variation of you. And this means that the worlds in Rick and Morty, yes, even those, would not only likely exist but would have to exist.
Now, there are a few things. It's not necessarily true that there's a council of Ricks somewhere. That would mean that portal guns are possible and the jury is still very much out on that one. However, the worlds themselves are completely viable.
This is really, really, really hard to wrap our heads around. That means that as insane as it sounds, there really could be a world where everyone is corn. According to our understanding there's not a world where people have magic (again, laws of physics are the hard rule, here) but there might well be one where people have wings and there are dragons that breathe fire.
The possibilities are literally beyond our imaginations.
But maybe not Dan Harmon's.
Man, I could really go for an episode of Rick and Morty right now....
