I hate being wrong, and I always work hard to prove that I am right. But, I believe there is a lot to learn from the following quote from Stephen Covey.
“A humble person is more concerned about what is right than about being right.” – Stephen Covey
What does this mean? There are times when you are convinced that you are right, but you are willing to forget about it, because the right thing to do is to neglect it and to skip the debate and let the other person live on in peace and believe he is right. Why is that?
This is not X-Factor in which you should allow people with no talent at all to proceed to the next round. But, in real life, there are times when you should just skip the discussion and aim for peace rather than being right and winning the debate at all times.
This is for the greater good, and we know that in the book about the seven habits of highly effective people, Stephen Covey is writing about how you can reach further if the group work together... which also means that you stay humble and work for the greater good!
