Bible & Spiritual warfare: Let us wait in hiding for the righteous man, for he inconveniences us and opposes our deeds. Wisdom 2:12

The sapiential books in the Bible teach much about the spiritual warfare, because this conflict is present in the minds of all people, and the great majority fail in this war and few succeed. And this is so because there is a principle that cannot be avoided and this is that the faculty of reason, in man, always looks at the good, all people are capable of doing good, of acting with rectitude, but it would seem that in today's society, common sense is not very abundant. And this is so because just as reason follows its own desire, so does passion. When passions such as hatred, envy, and contempt for one's neighbor predominate in a society, nothing edifying can emerge from it. And this observation is not superfluous, because many countries in the modern world, despite the benefits of technology and the natural resources available, are on the brink of social catastrophe due to the dominance of passions among ordinary people.
It is for these reasons that the Bible has long spoken of the importance of the righteous life, of always acting according to ethical principles such as the silver rule: "Do to no one what you yourself hate" Tobit 4:15. And whoever wishes to follow this path and emerge triumphant in the spiritual war by rejecting destructiveness and ungodly passions must know that he will always be put to the test.
The Book of Wisdom written by King Solomon describes how in a world given over to sin the righteous are put to the test in the spiritual warfare:
"Let us wait in hiding for the righteous man,
for he inconveniences us and opposes our deeds.
He reproaches us for our sins against the law
and accuses us of failures in what we have been taught" Wisdom 2:12.
And an example of this teaching of wisdom was the character Job who in the book that bears his name was put to the test by the accusing angel who pointed him out before the court of God. Job, despite the misfortunes that afflicted him, never lost the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), and through this beautiful spiritual gift, he emerged triumphant from his problems and was blessed by God at the end of his days. Like Job, all men are called to excellence and blessedness, but few achieve it, not all obtain the crown of true life in spiritual warfare.
