Christian charity: Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them

Jesus teaches us in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-7:28) the principles to enter into the Kingdom of God and with special emphasis, what the Christian charity consists of. Charity should not be a means to achieve other goals, charity is an end in itself. And someone will ask himself, why? And the answer is because charity builds, educates, and attends to the common good.
Jesus explains it simply in the gospel:
"Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:1-4.

Jesus expresses himself in this way, giving with one hand without the other knowing, because in those days it was common for people in Judea and Samaria to pray at certain times wherever they were, which made many people look for the places more crowded. Hypocrisy disguised as religiosity: "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full", Matthew 6:5.
The gospels explain to us that the humility that comes from the heart, is the beginning of wisdom and the life in the grace of God: "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom" James 3:13.
