A lot of people are butting heads about the scene in The Rings of Power where Galadriel singlehandedly takes down the troll that basically took out her entire unit. Is it an awesome scene; or, is this just another hypercharged woman who is inexplicably infinitely more competent in combat than a dozen men?
No, everybody is missing the glaring problem with this scene. It makes Galadriel an incompetent commander.
No functional military is gonna put it's greatest badass in charge if that badass doesn't know how to properly train the people who he or she is commading. Commading officers are supposed to make sure that the troops can act properly and effectively even if their commanding officer gets killed or otherwise incapacitated. The head of the unit could be John Wick; but, if his soldiers are so incompetent that, if Wick goes down, they don't know where to point their guns, Wick is a bad team leader.
That's the real problem with that scene.
