they can use other tokens also and ignore xrp if they please.

              It has always been like this, this is nothing new.. I hold ripple in my portfolio exactly because it's different from other technologies. Always document yourself "before" the investment and anyways never invest more than you can lose! After these two basic rules, diversify your investment is also a good call.
