I'm guessing that among low IQ people there's a divide between people who still don't know who Dominick Black is and people who are irate that he took a plea bargain resulting in a slap on the wrist.

For those who don't know, Dominick Black is the person who bought the gun that Kyle Rittenhouse used to defend himself against Rosenbaum, Huber, and Grosskreutz.

Black was facing two felony charges of illegally providing a minor with a deadly weapon resulting in death.

Of course, during the Rittenhouse trial, judge Schroeder dismissed the illegal gun charge because...well...it was clear that Rittenhouse's possession of the gun wasn't illegal. The prosecution basically tried to combine statutes related to possession of firearms by persons under the age of sixteen (Rittenhouse was seventeen) with possession of short barrel rifles. Neither of which applied.

The reality is that Black's plea deal, although I regard it as a net win, says something negative about the criminal justice system and particularly shows that Thomas Binger is an evil person.

Even though the ruling that Rittenhouse wasn't in illegal possession of a firearm and it was clear and obviouse that Black didn't engage in a straw purchase being that there wasn't an immediate transfer of ownership of the gun, Binger kept holding the felony charges over Black's head for as long as possible.

Binger did what too many prosecutors do which is threaten somebody with decades in prison in a case that the prosecutor knows he or she shouldn't be able to win, let the reality set in for the defendant that even if he or she is not guilty they'll have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars that they don't have on legal fees, and then offer a plea deal so it looks like a win for the state.

Yeah, if you're facing two felony charges that could land you in prison for twenty years and you get offered a deal in which you can plead no contest and get it knocked down to a municipal violation and a fine, you do it. It doesn't change the fact that Binger used the power and intimidation of the state to force an innocent person to cough up two thousand dollars.
