Taunsa Barrage

20170806_093654.jpgTaunsa Barrage is a barrage on Indus river in Taunsa tehsil of Dera Gazi Khan provience of Punjab.

It is near about 16 KM far from Kot Addu, this barrage controls water flow of Indus river for irrigation and flood control purposes. The barrage serves as an arterial road bridge and railway bridge and also gas and oil pipeline, telephone lines and high voltage transmission lines.
It was completed in 1958, In April 2004, the World Bank approved a $123 million loan to Pakistan to rehabilitate the Taunsa Barrage on the River Indus whose structure had been damaged owing to soil erosion and old-age.
Me and my cousin visited near about 5 months ago.
