Sangu River or Sonkho River of Bangladesh

River of the eastern-hilly areas of Chittagong and Bandarban district. The length of the river is 294 kilometers, the average width is 119 meters, and the nature of the river is spiral.

One of the scenes of the natural beauty of Bandarban is that the Sangu River, flowed from the Chittagong Hill Tracts in the North circle to Bandarban. The river reached the west side of the district and entered the Bandarban. After reaching Bandarban on the east and joined the Bay of Bengal after its circulation of about 270 kilometers. This river flowing for thousands of years in the mountainous region and very important of communicating with Ruma and Thanchi upazilas. The river plays an important role in the economic growth of the people of Bandarban. People in remote areas use the river for transport, agriculture and other necessary purposes.

Sangu River is one of the main rivers in Bangladesh. Bandarban district and southern part of Chittagong. Most of the rivers in Bangladesh flow from north to south to the Bay of Bengal. But the Sangu river was formed in the southern part of Bandarban and it ended in the Bay of Bengal after it flowed northwards.

During the rainy season, the flow of the river Sangu is greatly affected, but during the rainy season, the flow of the river is very strong.
