Shapla is the national flower of Bangladesh. This is a flower that is very familiar to us. Although it is a monsoon flower, it has the status of a national flower as it blooms in other seasons as well.

Varieties: Abundance of this flower can be seen in any water body like lakes, ponds, ponds etc. in the villages of Bangladesh. These flowers come in different colors. Such as white, red and purple. Of these three colors, the white shaplai is recognized as the symbol of the national flower.

Place of arrival and time: When the reservoirs of Bangladesh are filled with water during the monsoon season, the water lilies start decorating all around and start a unique scene. On a moonlit night, when the water lilies blooming in the lake, sway in the gentle wind, it looks as if a swarm of stars has descended from the blue sky into the water.

Description: Shapla is an aquatic plant. It usually grows in streams. The shuffler sinks into the mud below the main reservoir. As the water level in the pond increases, so does its stem. Its leaves are much larger than a plate in shape and size. On the large leaves like a dish, long stalks with different colored water lilies float in the pond. In the bud stage, the water lily becomes like a banana twig. The bud slowly blooms and matures in a day or two.

Benefits: Shapla flower not only fills our minds with its beauty, it is also a beneficial flower. Shuffler stalks are eaten as a vegetable by many in rural and even urban areas. Red water lily is used as medicine. The boys and girls of rural Bengal make garlands with these flowers. This flower is also used for stage decoration. Shuffler flowers produce large fruits like potatoes. Khai and moya are made from this fruit.

Introduction: Television is the most popular media in the world today. After radio and film, television is the most modern and stunning invention of the scientist. The word television comes from the Latin words ‘tele’ and ‘visio’. The word ‘tele’ means ‘distance’ and the word ‘VCO’ means seeing. That is, the device that can be used to see a distant scene is called television. However, both are taken care of with this device.

Discovery and description: The German scientist Paul Knepp was also the first to express his views on the invention of the television device. Based on that view, the English scientist John Baird invented television in 1925. Nowadays, not only black and white pictures but also color pictures are being shown on television. Television was introduced in our country in 1975. In recent times, satellite TV and dish antenna TV are very popular and well-known names among the viewers. Through this, like the viewers from all over the world, the viewers of Bangladesh are also enjoying all the benefits of entertainment.

Benefits: We get a lot of benefits from television. As well as being the best form of entertainment, it is also a powerful medium. This medium plays an effective role in making the people of the country aware and responsible. Television is playing a unique role in providing employment and education to the unemployed youth, imparting special knowledge about healthcare and developing the country's art and culture. This medium is playing a groundbreaking role in improving the quality of agriculture in the agricultural country.

Disadvantages: If television is not operated properly, it has its disadvantages in family, social and national life. Ugly entertainment degrades people's moral character. Television causes students to lose their studies as well as their eyesight.

Conclusion: Television is a popular and powerful media broadcast worldwide. If the benefits of this medium can be properly disseminated everywhere in the country and abroad, all people will benefit from it. For this, we have to increase the quality of television programs in our country and make it more popular. Only then can this medium play an effective role in the overall development of the nation.

Sundarbans

Introduction: The Sundarbans, a vast resource of nature, has developed in the Bay of Bengal-coastal region in the south of Bangladesh. Surrounded by the sea, this vast forest is one of the natural wonders of the world. Not only that, in the saline environment it is the largest intact forest in the world as the largest mangrove forest in the world. Just as there are forests of plants, acorns and beautiful trees, there are also many animals and creatures. The forest was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.

Area and Location: The Sundarbans is located in the Bay of Bengal-coastal area in the south of Bangladesh. Covering an area of 10,000 sq km, the forest covers an area of 6,018 sq km in Khulna district of Bangladesh and the rest in the 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, India. 31.1 per cent of the total forest area is covered by rivers, canals and beels.

Animals of the Sundarbans: All the various animals live in the Sundarbans. In addition to the famous Royal Bengal Tiger, the forest is home to a wide variety of birds, chitra deer, crocodiles, snakes and countless species of animals. At one time, the animals of the Sundarbans included cheetahs, wolves, rhinos, elephants and wild boars. Just as these animals have become extinct as a result of natural disasters, so too the giant vultures that keep the environment clean are rarely seen today. However, as can be seen in the forests of monkeys, wild cats, rabbits and ud, the birds also include buck, stork, hargila, kadakhoncha, lenza and hotti. Gangchil, water pigeon, kite, eagle, masaranga, woodpecker, owl, beekeeper and shaved pot can be seen on the coast.

Plants of the Sundarbans: The vegetation of the Sundarbans is varied. There are Sundari, Garan, Gewa, Keora, Ora, Pashur, Dhundal, Bain etc. Apart from this, golpata grows almost everywhere in the Sundarbans.

Conclusion: The Sundarbans is one of the natural wonders of the world. Fascinated by the natural beauty of the Sundarbans, thousands of tourists visit here every year. The gift of nature, the animals of this forest are all valuable resources of the country. Therefore, the natural beauty of the Sundarbans must be preserved by protecting the flora and fauna from extinction and disaster.
