BLOODSHED ON OUR ROADS ...

Nigerian roads have been awash with various terrible accidents where over 70% are fatal and ghastly, it's becoming very frightening to travel by road due to a couple of reasons that opportunity may allow me mention.

One of the transport carriers that has recorded deaths of Nigerians in multiples of hundred is the infamous PEACE MASS TRANSIT (photos attached from several editions of The Punch Newspaper and Vanguard and Facebook Photos too)

The festive periods like Christmas and new year are usually periods of heavy vehicular movement on our roads, as people struggle to get back to base to kick start their normal course of endeavours with the advent of the new year, One of the reasons given by the Federal Road safety Corps for the high mortality rates on our roads in this period is The desire of transport firms to make so much profit, hence over speeding by the drivers to meet these targets. Another is the excitement in the season which can make a careless driver throw caution to the wind , government owned companies which hitherto were safer, have now joined the private firms to wreck carelessness on our roads

Please the year is just few hours old, when boarding a vehicle, carry out simple safety precautions Like using a seatbelt, insisting that the driver operates under a reasonable speed limit as approved by the FRSC(FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY CORPS)

Nigerians, STEEMIANS must be safer on our roads within and beyond this busy Season. I wish us all a safe 2018.
