At least one Hollywood star would love to see New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski quit his NFL career to pursue acting. Gronk wouldn't commit to playing in 2018 after the Super Bowl, and it's been rumored he could try his hand at a Hollywood career.
David Arquette was approached by TMZ Sports about this subject.
"I would cast him in a freaking second," Arquette said.
When he was asked about Gronk potentially being a bad actor, Arquette said, "Acting is about being real, and I believe he's real."
Arquette also said Gronk is already a superhero, and it's clear he thinks the football star could parlay his athletic career into something big in Hollywood.
For what it's worth, Arquette appeared to be quite inebriated during this brief interview.
And quite honestly Gronk would likely be a horrible actor. Unless he's doing something along the lines of a National Lampoon movie or an action role that requires zero seriousness, it's hard to take Gronk seriously.
Still, there's no doubt that Gronk sells. He's No. 8 on our SNIPdaily NFL Top 100 for the past month, ahead of Peyton Manning and NFL draft prospect Josh Allen.
And given how many fans he has we have no doubt he'd be wildly popular outside of football, if he does hang up the cleats.
