How to talk 'The Robber Language' - Swedish Rövarspråket

in robber •  7 years ago

The language 'Rövarspråket' became popular from some children books written by the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, (Pippi Longstocking, Ronia, the Robber's Daughter).

It's pretty simple, just double every consonant and add one 'o' in the middle. Vowels will be left just as they are.
For example;

EnglishRobber Language
Dogdod-o-gog
Birdbob-i-ror-dod
The Robber Languagetot-h-e ror-o-bob-bob-e-ror lol-a-non-gog-u-a-gog-e
Steemitsos-tot-e-e-mom-i-tot

It looks and sounds like double Dutch, but when you got control of it you will be able to speak and listen to a language that no one else around you can understand.

So, I translated the first part of the article to the robber language below:

ToThohe lolanongoguagoge 'RoRövovarorsospoproråkoketot' bobecocamome popopopulolaror fofroromom sosomome cochohiloldodrorenon bobookoksos wowroritottotenon boby tothohe SoSwowedodisoshoh autothohoror Asostotroridod LoLinondodgogrorenon, (PoPipoppopi LoLonongogsostotocockokinongog, RoRononia, tothohe RoRobobboberor'sos DoDaugoghohtoteror).

Pretty easy, right?
