Bassist MÖTLEY CRÜE, Nikki Sixx and MARILYN MANSON collaborated on December 31 with ROB ZOMBIE during his performance at the OZZFEST. Between all they interpreted the classic subject "Helter Skelter" of THE BEATLES (watch the video below).

In July 2018, MARILYN MANSON and ROB ZOMBIE released a studio version of the song "Helter Skelter". Asked in an interview with The Rolling Stone about how the idea of making a version of the theme of THE BEATLES came up, Rob said this:

"We had been talking about doing something together for these shows, that he should appear on stage during my set and that we would do a song. But we could not think of what song. After talking later that night, I was at home and I just thought that obviously the song had to be 'Helter Skelter' ... It's so obvious that neither of us thought about it! And then I thought: 'Well, instead of just doing it on stage, why do not we go further and record it and give it a new twist? That way, instead of just doing something improvised, now the fans will say: 'Oh, there's the song I heard, and now they're playing it.'

Regarding the way they tackled the song when it was recorded in the studio, Rob said this:

"Well, my thinking when it comes to making a version is to stay close to the original. Because I think, 'what is the real purpose of making a version if nobody can recognize it?' So with our version, I think it changes as much as possible from the original, but not so much that it becomes a different song " .
