The Oxford City Council of Britain has withdrawn the honor given by Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi in the violence against Rohingya Muslims.
City authorities say Myanmar is treating Rohingya Muslims, so Suu Kyi and Freedom of the City are not eligible for the award.
In October, authorities voted for the withdrawal of Suu Kyi's title.
Noble Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi is associated with the city of Oxford. Because he studied there.
Meanwhile, St Hugh's College, where Suu had studied, removed her picture.
Note that due to Myanmar's Rakhine violence, hundreds of thousands of people have fled to Bangladesh.
Suu Kyi was under house arrest for years after being in control of the army in the country. At that time, he was seen to be vocal about establishing democracy.
But in the way the Rohingya Muslims were tortured in the country, many leaders of the world have been shocked by the good news.
Amnesty International condemned the torture.
