In Cluj County, by far the most visited tourist attraction is the Turda salt mine. Inaugurated in 2010, after being rehabilitated, the Turda salt mine has become in a short time from a cave where no one comes, one of the most visited tourist attractions of Romania, a “Grotto” which attracted yearly hundreds of thousands of tourists who come here from all around the world.
The salt mines in Romania have become tourist destinations quite popular among both Romanians and foreigners, especially due to their salty air believed to have therapeutic properties. But some of these places have transformed into true “small towns,” offering visitors a wide variety of fun and relaxing things to do.
