The Corvin Castle in Hunedoara has a history of over six centuries and is now one of the most visited monuments in Romania. Tourists from all corners of the world have crossed the threshold and have been impressed by the beauty and the legends that circulate on it.

The most important figures in the history of the Corvin Castle are Prince John of Hunedoara (born 1407 - deceased 1456) and his son Matia Corvin (born 1443 - deceased 1490), king of Hungary. John of Hunedoara and Matia Corvin had a childhood in the castle. According to historians, alongside its existence, the Corvinus Castle has been covered by three large fires. The most devastating fire occurred on April 13, 1854, caused by a stumbling block.

In the autumn of 1784, the Corvinus Castle became a place of refuge for the families of the nobles in the Haţeg Land and the Strei and Mureş valleys, endangered by the rebels led by Horea, Closca and Crişan. According to historical documents, thousands of people have been barricaded in the castle for fear of the rebels.

I was just talking about Transylvania! I did not know about this castle's history, thank you for the information. I only knew of Bran Castle, yet this is just as monumental!

I'm glad I helped.

I like your review! In some days I want to visit this castle but didn't know about evil spirit!

Fara indoiala, este un obiectiv turistic care trebuie vizitat. In ceea ce priveste spiritul rau, ma indoiesc ca exista.

Romania has lots of centennial castles to offer tourists.

This is true. :-)

Great going keep it up
