It's admirable, if not always politically advisable, to define yourself by what you're for rather than what you're against.

But if you're gonna go the easier demagoguery route, you get to pick your opponent.

DeSantis has plenty of enemies he could choose. He could pick Trump, his opponent after he announces, or Biden, his opponent if he makes it to the general. He could pick "Ji-na"'s CCP or Putin. Fauci, Ibram X. Kendi, or George Soros. The MTGs of the Democrats (AOC/Bernie types). Progressive media outlets like the NYT/MSNBC. The Fed. The IRS, FBI, or ATF.

And despite all these options, he's choosing instead to run against Mickey Mouse.

For the record, I don't think DeSantis would be either a great or a horrible President. He'd be fine, even an improvement over the last few, and we'd go about living our lives.

But I imagine Goofy turning and asking, in his best mean girls impression... "Hyuck. Why are you so obsessed with me? Gawrsh."
