I recently attended the "Anarchapulco" conference in Acapulco with about 1500 people from all over the world, most of whom are anarchists/voluntaryists/libertarians like myself.
I had such a great time and met so many amazing people!
Ron Paul spoke at the conference, and here is a short video was his opening remarks...
The audio is not great, so it was a bit hard to make out every word, but here is my attempt at a transcript. Let me know if you think I should make any corrections to it.
"They try to tell us that the liberty movement is dead. That's ... [not true], it's alive and well! But we have a ways to go, because those in charge happen NOT to like liberty, and they like government, and that makes a big challenge bigger than ever. That is a real problem for all of us who want to live our own life. ... We start with the premise that we own our life. We own our life, and we should own everything we make and create! Does that mean we don't have any sovereignty? Yes, we have sovereignty: sovereignty of the individual, to make the decisions. And that to me is the most important thing." - Ron Paul
Later that night, Ron and I put down a few tequila shots and things got cray cray, but I'm not going to post any video of that! What happens in Acapulco stays in Acapulco. Haha, just kidding!
As a side note: Just before Ron Paul took the stage, we felt an earthquake! It was very mild, but still freaked people out. Then during Ron Paul's speech, we felt a very subtle aftershock, but fortunately, it did not interrupt his speech. I knew I was among many movers and shakers at this conference, but I sure didn't expect THAT to happen!
