heat wave

the weather has been hot hot hot! this has led to extreme fire conditions and total fire bans often.

there have been two small fires in the warrenbayne valley. both caused by lightning strikes! in a wonderful happenstance, both the fired were jumped on pretty quickly and the following showers finished the job. could have been a lot worse. there are a lot of heavily eucalyptus wooded hills surrounding our valley plus pine plantations, in the next valley. we often have dry lighting storms but this was fortuitously not the case here. the universe a.k.a. god was on our side... at least that day.

here is a shot as summer starts to bite!

ain’t that just great eye illumination!

as i previously detailed my partner has prostate cancer with resulting metastatic spread to the spine! his next check in on february the 1st. we are course hoping for the best... but any sign of return and chemotherapy and rick simpson oil (rso) will be on the menu again. the rso coupled with chemo, knocked the cancer for a six as well as the recipient. the recipe for rso is widely available on the internet so i won’t bore you with that. i chose to use the organic method advocated by simpson himself and it is actually therapeutic for the soul! there was an initial problem, my partner the first night of rso treatment was violently and persistently ill. the solution we used was to encapsulate the oil into empty capsules made of vegetable gelatin. these were the inserted anally twice a day. this area of your body is the home to a myriad of blood vessels that can carry the rso very effectively to the nearby prostate!

i believe this therapy led to an unexpected “no sign of any cancer” reflected in the incredibly expensive scans that had to be undertaken. damn outrageous that those so afflicted, in australian country centres are expected to pay on the day. i would not like to be on a pension with such an affliction. s’pose we’ll know soon enough.

we’ll return to more pleasant topics now. have a gander at this beautiful flower. all around us there is extraordinary beauty that we don’t always see. sometimes our perception is clouded when dealing with life’s hurdles.

it’s is a flower from the bromeliad, billbergia. i have these growing in the forks of trees. they are, like some orchids. they are epiphytes (air plants) and are happy in the shade of the tree.

i’ll leave you with this pic. joe who rarely barks (a trait of border collies) was yapping loudly and excitedly at something in the pine tree. the pic is self explanatory.
