  1. IBM Launches New Blockchain Supply Chain Product Using Red Hat Tech - IBM is launching a new product, Sterling Supply Chain Suite that will enable businesses to exchange supply chain information with manufacturers, retailers, and other supply network participants. The firm says that it offers better security, reliability, and transparency to businesses and their partners. In addition to IBM's blockchain, the new product also makes use of Redhat Linux and IBM's Watson AI technology.

  2. Google said it wasn't responding to a request by the Chinese government or police when it pulled a game about the Hong Kong protests from its app store (GOOG, GOOGL) - The Wall Street Journal reported that Google pulled The Revolution Of Our Times I, a game that resembles the Hong Kong Protests, from its app store at the request of the Chinese government, and the authors say they've seen documents to support their claim. Google, however, denies it. According to Google, the game was pulled because it violates the company's policy forbidding developers to capitalize on sensitive current events. The Hong Kong Free Press reports that 80% of the game's profits were pledged to a legal fund for arrested protesters. This comes at a time when Activision, Apple, and the NBA are also under fire for actions that critics say appeased the Chinese government and compromised principles of freedom and democracy.

  3. ‘Members’ of OpenLibra Disavow Project Days After Its Devcon Unveiling - After the OpenLibra project was announced along with a list of partners, a number of those partners are now saying that they're not involved with it. This includes Sunny Aggarwal, and representatives from Chainlink, Web3 Foundation and Hashed, all of whom say their names were used without permission. Web3 and Hashed add that their names came into it through involvement of former employees. OpenLibra founder, Lucas Geiger, has apologized for the misunderstanding. Confirmed partners include: "ethereum developer Lane Rettig, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Ph.D. student Barnabe Monnot, Democracy Earth founder Santi Siri, Tendermint director Zaki Manian, Iqlusion founder Tony Arcieri, Vulcanize founder Rick Dudley, BlockScience founder Michael Zargham, SUTD professor Georgios Piliouras and HiveOnline founder Sofie Blakstad." The OpenLibra announcement was covered in Curating the Internet: Business, leadership, and management micro-summaries for October 10, 2019.

  4. Don’t Throw Away Your Used LEGO Bricks—Donate Them - According to a report from geek.com, LEGO has entered into partnership with Give Back Box to launch the LEGO Replay initiative and reuse your old LEGOs. The initiative will accept old bricks in any condition - you don't need to sort them. LEGO will then clean them up, package them, and ship them off to another generation of LEGO builders. You can print a free shipping label, here.

  5. STEEM Doing "This" Takes Time Away from "That:" The Dilemma of Time - In this post, @denmarkguy talks about the opportunity cost of everything we do. To spend time on one thing, we must forego doing something else. Knowledge of this fact makes it important to prioritize the things we spend time on. As Ben Franklin put it (with modernized language), "Do you love life? Then do not squander time, for that’s the stuff life is made of."
