Getting down to the final countdown for my Goruck Star Course Event (50 miles in 20 hours or less)...
So far training has been going well though not quite as ambitious as I first intended... The time commitment to put in anything over 7 or 8 miles is pretty intensive so that distance has been about where I've top off and even those rucks probably haven't been as often as they should be!
Regardless of that I think I'm in a decent place and when it comes down to it the distance will be carried partly through physical stamina and partly through mental fortitude!
I only have one final piece to fall into place and that's the "ruck weight". The prescribed weight is 20 pounds and the easiest way to do that is with a "ruck plate", but those are kind of pricey so I need to decide if I'm going to suck it up and buy one or just go with 2 ten pound regular weights duct taped together!
I'll likely post one more progress update before the event and then a wrap-up/AAR of the event itself!
