Las naciones que conforman las islas británicas crearon e impulsaron un deporte, con muchos ingredientes futboleros en su reglamento y estilo. Un antiguo dicho británico dice que "el fútbol es un juego de caballeros jugado por villanos y el rugby es un juego de villanos jugado por caballeros". A pesar de la agresividad e intensidad con la que se practica el rugby, la disciplina es, para quienes la viven a flor de piel, “un estilo de vida impulsado por valores”.
En venezuela el rugby se practica poco. pero se ha visto que la hacienda santa teresa impulsa a niños, adolescentes y jóvenes a practicar dicho deporte.
