Saracens eased to a 29-17 victory over the Tigers at Welford Road, with Jonny May seeing red for a combination of two deliberate knock-ons and two yellow cards.
Leicester Tigers (10) 17
Tries: Tait, Penalty
Cons: Ford x2
Pens: Ford
Saracens (17) 29
Tries: Penalty, George
Cons: Farrell x2
Pens: Farrell x4
Drop Goals: Farrell
Saracens came out firing, and quickly amassed a 17-0 lead over Leicester, but Matthew Tait scored a brilliant try in the corner before George Ford added another 5 points from his boot to go in 17-10 at the break.
Farrell extended Sarries' lead with another penalty, but a penalty try for the hosts ensured that they were still in the game for the majority of the second half. Jonny May was harshly sent off for his second deliberate knock-on, but by letter of the law it was deserved.
Mako Vunipola was shown yellow late on as Saracens were absolutely dominated at scrum time - conceding almost 10 penalties at the scrum. Leicester did not have enough to conjure up a late comeback, however, and Saracens came out as 29-17 winners in an exciting match.
The game was officiated terribly by Matthew Carley, but Saracens deserved their first victory in the Aviva Premiership since October (when they beat London Irish) and they will be glad to see the end of their run.
