Worcester provided a dominant performance to lookers-on at Sixways this evening, as they boosted their ever-increasing survival hopes by smashing fellow relegation candidates London Irish 23-8.

Worcester (17) 23

Tries: Adams x2
Cons: Pennell x2
Pens: Pennell x3

London Irish (8) 8

Tries: Lewington
Pens: Tonks

In-form Welsh winger Josh Adams scored two brilliant first-half tries, pivotal in Worcester's third league win in four games. He now takes his Aviva Premiership tally to 8 tries so far this season, and it won't be long until the plaudits will be recommending him for the Welsh national selection.

Chris Pennell had an excellent performance from the tee, scoring at every opportunity.

The Exiles' only try came through the brilliance of Alex Lewington; who stunned the Worcester defense through a superb curved run, and kick and chase to go over. Possibly an early contender for Citizen's Try of the Week? Definitely.

Tonks missed the conversion, and what should have been 10-10 at the break quickly became 17-8. He later scored a penalty, and Pennell another two to make the final score 23-8.

London Irish were incredibly ill-disciplined and will undoubtedly need to look into solving that before next round if they want to face any chance of improving.

Worcester moves ten points clear of 12th placed London Irish, and if I was hedging my bets at this stage, I'd certainly put all my money on London Irish getting relegated.

English referee Wayne Barnes broke the record for the most Premiership games which a referee has officiated, 191, with the previous record being set by Chirs White between 1997 and 2011.
