Gloucester have certainly been linked with a lot of flankers recently, including a suprising link to Ireland's Peter O'Mahony of Munster, but it seems that Gloucester (with the thanks to head coach Johan Ackerman) have found their replacement to Ross Moriarty; Jaco Kriel!
The Lions standout flanker has been heavily linked with a move to Gloucester, with many sites stating that the deal is already on the table.
Kriel signed a two year deal with Kubota Spears in June, allowing him to play Super Rugby for the Lions and then the end of season with the Japanese side. This does however mean that if the deal has gone through then Gloucester will not get to field Kriel until 2019.
Kriel has been capped 11 times by the Springboks and will match up with fellow South African additions Johan and Ruan Ackerman if he does decide to take the trip to Gloucestershire.
Gloucester's back-row has been one of the standouts of the Aviva Premiership so far, with Lewis Ludlow making his presence well-and-truly known. Ruan Ackerman has been outstanding and won November's Player of the Month award as a result.
The move has no doubt been helped by Johan Ackerman, who joined as Gloucester's head coach in the Summer (a former Lions and Springboks coach).
