🏉 Gloucester Rugby - Wales and Lions hooker Richard Hibbard to join Dragons at the end of the season!

Wales international hooker, Hibbard, will leave Aviva Premiership outfit Gloucester at the end of the season, heading to the Newport-based club, the Dragons.

Hibbard is the 2nd Welsh Gloucester and Lions capped player to announce that he will be 'uping-sticks' and heading back to his home country to play for the Dragons, after Ross Moriarty announced his departure plans last month.

He had been expected to stay until his contract expired at the end of the 2018-19 season, and will be missed hugely by the entirety of the Gloucester fan base - falling in love with the big front pack player for the 2 years he has been here.

The move begs the question as to whether Hibbard could be seen back in the Wales national team, as he is undoubtedly still one of the best hookers that they have.

He stated;

"Finishing my career in Wales is important to me, this opportunity has probably come a little sooner than I expected."

Gloucester, already short on players in the hooker department, signed on-loan ex-Wallaby hooker James Hanson last week and will need to be in the market for another very soon after this sad news. Harry Thacker of Leicester is rumoured to be available at the end of the season, amid reports that Bristol were interested in him - however, I think Gloucester could be the perfect suitors for the talented 23-year-old.
