Cronulla Sharks’ struggles continued as they were blown away by Penrith Panthers last week and they have plenty of work to do to put that humiliating loss behind them after going down 48-0 to the league leaders.
That is now five losses in succession for the Sharks and to make matters worse for them ahead of a tricky clash with South Sydney Rabbitohs, Shaun Johnson has been ruled out despite being named in the initial side.
SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

South Sydney Rabbitohs were put to the sword by a ruthless performance from Melbourne Storm in a humiliating 0-50 loss last week as the reigning premiers cut the Rabbits to pieces on the edges.
Despite having plenty of talent sat on the sidelines, the Rabbitohs were woeful and allowed the Storm to score almost at will with some fragile defence on show but Wayne Bennett will be demanding a response here and he is boosted by the return of Adam Reynolds at halfback.
THE PREDICTION
These two teams lost by a combined total of 98 points to nil last week so it will be intriguing to see how they perform on the back of those dreadful efforts. Cronulla Sharks suffered a fifth straight loss in what was an expected defeat at the hands of top of the ladder Penrith Panthers while South Sydney Rabbitohs saw their seven-match winning streak come to an end in spectacular fashion. Souths were hammered by Melbourne Storm and while they still have some major outs, the Sharks are also missing some important players and the return of Adam Reynolds in the halves can be key to helping the Rabbits make an immediate return to winning ways.
