Weird Memory

Apparently "All Growed Up" happened, essentially the rugrats all grown up. By that point, and really by the time I was in my pre teen, but finalized in my teen years, I really started hating Western style animation. I started preferring shows like Dragonball Z (which to me ... kind of sucks now) and then eventually shows like Ghost In The Shell and Serial Experiments Lain.

I think I kind of took All Growed Up negatively for generally different reasons from most. I was never a huge fan of rugrats anyway, but to me the suddenly five fingered approach, and more realistic proportions kind of struck me as ... well to be honest misappropriating Japanese animation style.

Angelica in particular, looked more like someone drawing Tsukikime wanting to making fun of Rugrats for some reason, and having it fall largely flat.

I'm wondering what a 2018 rugrats would actually look like.

Was never a huge fan of the art style.

To be fair, if any American TV series came close to Magical Realism (as suppose to full blown fantasy) it definitely would be Rugrats. And it was much better than Flintstones.

That and, honestly, going through one series of Angelica is more than enough for a lifetime.
