It isn't always something we plan but the Chiang Mai has descended on the West coast of Malaysia recently to help them celebrate Chinese New Year with a bunch of beers, some sweat, and new friendships.

To be fair, the only Chiang Mai representative in attendance was our own "Alice" who is pictured above.
He reports back that the Malaysians are just as silly as we are here in Chinag Mai, but have significantly more locals involved in the Hash, which is something we wish we could improve about our own hash but after repeatedly attempting to garner interest from the Thai community, it always seems to fall flat for some reason.

According to "Alice", most of the area was quite urban and filled with very little off road and nature stuff but Melaka is extremely developed and traveling out to the countryside isn't possible for most of the hashes. It doesn't really matter because a good hash isn't necessarily about the nature, but about the people involved.

They are also similarly lazy to our own groups as they barely did more than a 5k run overall.
It is nice to see that the local council doesn't seem to mind that a bunch of people are on the side of the road blocking a lane of traffic and drinking beer, as this is a pretty critical part of what we do

I'm kidding about blocking the traffic by the way - this road was a dead end according to our boots-on-the-ground reporter, Alice.

In lieu of ice blocks they have a raised ice chair that we should probably get made up in Chiang Mai to accommodate our less physically capable members - which is most of them.
By the way I am posting this for "Alice" because his approval from Steemit is taking ages to get approved. I have heard that there is a way for existing members with some SP to burn can open accounts for friends immediately but I can't figure out how to make that happen. If anyone can help me with that I would appreciate the assistance.
In the meantime, thanks for the hospitality in Melaka, and we hope to see you guys up here in Chiang Mai in the not-too-distant future.
