Deccan Ultra 75km Pure Trail Run Report

in running •  6 years ago

It has been 2 days since I have been leaving at home after an long 70 days trip to west and south India.
I was roaming in these places to make a loop of 75km for Deccan ultra trail run event. I faced so much problems from authorities but still I got the green flag from authorities.
I did route recce many times, I did route marking again and again, I shoot the entire loop day after day, and I run the 75km loop after 3 days. It was tough, it was like I am breaking but finally everything has been done without any complaint or injury.
75km route had started sharp at 05:15am from waki dam and went up to Maharashtra's highest peak "Kalsubai" via Chichondi, Penchet and Bari village.
It was a steep downhill from kalsubai to Udadhawane village, many runners fell down but no one get hurts much. I had already been finished one liter water upto 18km. Increase the speed and reach third feed station at 8am, without having anything moved to Ghagghar and again didn't use the feed station.
It took 5 hours to cover 40 km, now the ascent has started. It was Ratangad uphill which makes me frustrated, downhill was quite amazing till kolthembe village. Had electro there and started again to uphill. It was not that hard, took 20 minutes to cover 4km with 450 meter ascent.
After the Ghanchakkar mountain I started to loose all my control on my legs. There were two feet high steps and I was very tired. I have already been covered 60km now the last 15km are waiting for me to destroy myself.
I took the challenge and started again to finish line. It was Pabargad plateau, very smooth trail and I was just flying there.
At last I reached at finish line at sharp 2 pm. I congrats myself. It was a hell of a route. It took 9 hours to cover 75km route with 2879 meter invline.

This looks amazing. Thanks so much for the breakdown and details of the run it sounds like it was a tough race with a lot of difficult terrain. The picture is also pretty awesome as well. Can wait to see more.

My motto:
