[MARATHON BLOG 17] Distance Record Tonight! Things I learned, things I need to do.

I made it to 12 miles tonight, which is a big milestone for me.

This is the path I took tonight down the seaside.

A couple things I learned:

  • It's time to buy real running gear. Not cotton board shorts and an old-man-looking, white mesh undershirt. The chafing. Oh, God, the chafing. I'll go do that tomorrow. Chafed inner thighs and nipples would not be a good look for race day, methinks.

  • I need to wear socks that come up past the tops of my shoes. The back of my left foot was rubbed raw after tonight's run.

This, at 20 miles, would likely be a much more painful affair. New socks needed.

  • I need to finally watch that video on running my good friend Adam sent me. I'm sure I "should have" watched it weeks ago, but these things seem to have their own timing, and it always seems to work out nicely.

Question to male runners with marathon experience:

What kind of underwear should I wear, and what kind of shorts? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Great run @kafkanarchy84 sir, you are increasing you km day after day and that's nice way to increase your stamina, i also like to say that If you want to win something run 100 meters and If you want to experience something run a marathon. thanks for sharing

If you want to win something run 100 meters and If you want to experience something run a marathon.

I love this. Thank you.

Nice work, and great playlist! As far as short and underwear go, I like the 2 in 1 shorts with built in compression the most by far for comfort, performance and resistance to chafing. These are good ones.

Thank you!!!!

Well done, that's brilliant. I'm training for my first half marathon in November. It is hard to fit in the training and long runs around work and family.
Keep it up xx

It can be tough, right? Godspeed and good luck!

Whoa you @kalfkanarchy84 making additional mile everyday.
Whoa another olympic gold medalist in making, lol..
Dont mind me sir.

Stay fit got to learn something when you talked about socks. Mine is always in because is so short. Anyway i never make past five miles.

Also thats a good line of music.
Keep on staying fit

12 miles pfftt...19km o.O My condition being like zero I wouldn't make 1km running lol. I can hold it out for a while when walking, but even with this amount I would have severe difficulty...

Been following your marathon blog, nice to see you make some steady progress.
You definitely need new socks, am not sure about what you should wear but I think any well fitting cotton clothes would do. Cotton is good at absorbing sweat and lets your skin breathe. Wishing you all the best

I have to ask you question ,from where have you got such inspiration to run .you are so dynamic and energetic friend, head's of to your every action. Thanks for the positivity and inspiration you have created in me. If you don't mind please visit me too, have a great night friend.

Well, I never had such inspiration before, but this year I saw the sign for the Marathon hanging downtown, the colors and everything about it just jumped out at me and I said to myself in my heart: "I'm gonna do it."

Friend you had wounded your leg, are you okay now?I want to know ,please inform me, As I connect with people I generally connect with heart, so please...

You are almost up to the half marathon, nice. I'm not sure which material running clothes are made of but the colors on them look neon usually. Here in florida they have a store called track shack, try to find the japanese equivalent and ask they should be able to help. Try adding Stage by John Frusciante to your playlist, best running song for me.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Long course, it is beneficial for health ... congratulations

What is happening today? Everyone is running? Just read a blog of @steevc, he ran 10km today as well :)
Running madness!

Solid playlist. As an 80s teen, I approve. Steem On Brother!
