I just finished a 6.165km run that lasted about 0hh:41mm:0ss !

It was already warm when I left the house at 7.30am - almost enough to tempt me into the river for a quick swim... almost. There was or had been a fox nearby, the scent was strong for the first few hundred yards. Then as I turned the corner I saw a jay land in a tree in front of me and sit looking at me as I passed - stupid humans. The temperature convinced me that I was going super slowly, but it turns out I was slower than Saturday but not all that far from my average over the last few days. I was tired too from having a bit of a cold over the weekend. I tried to keep my mind off an assessment of my performance and just stick with plodding on. After I crossed the river by the rowing club there were a few butterflies in the grass and I nearly trod on one. Hard work but another one in the bag.

I don't think I've seen any foxes when I've been running, but I did see a jay on a recent cycle ride. You can sneak up on some wildlife. I glimpsed a kingfisher once.
I can run by our little river, but it's not really deep enough to swim and I'd be wary of going in alone.
