Hello dear friends of Steemit.
Today I will tell you about the preparation, the trip, my participation and the results of my first 10K race that took place on the Isla de Margarita in Venezuela.
I started training about 8 months before the race, when I started I could barely run 400 meters continuously at a smooth and steady pace and alternated it with soft walks. Start without the accompaniment of a professional. Little by little I was advancing with a constant and consistent training, which allowed me to run 3 kilometers in a row in approximately 28 minutes, not bad for a rookie. With the advance obtained, I can join an athletic team with co-workers, and here I had professional advice, which helped me to improve the achievements already obtained.
I trained 4 to 5 times per week, we did cross trainings as a team and little by little I increased the distance traveled and decreased the time.
I already reached the 10km in previous training I felt ready for the race.
With 1 day left until the race, I started the trip from Maturin to Puerto La Cruz by land and then from Puerto La Cruz to Margarita by sea by ferry.
The day of the race arrived, it started at 7:00 am, the sun was already very hot and the humidity was terrible. I did not know the route and I was surprised by several steep climbs that caused me fatigue and dehydration, but my strength was greater and I managed to maintain a constant and accelerated pace despite the adverse environmental conditions.
I managed to finish my first race with a time of 1 hour 5 minutes and a little more than 10 kilometers traveled. The satisfaction was great and there was no other option than to take a well-deserved beach bath.
Here is a picture of time, distance and rhythm. Very good for a rookie...
Saludos

Saludos
