Nice work ;-) That pace is now a comfortable one for me also, but it used to be something I could only cream of. So it is definitely a case of the more you do the better you get :-)
If you get a nice day in the weekend, try going for a 20km run (it's ok to walk bits of it). This should give you a kick start for the next plateau in your training.
I find after each really long run, like an ultra, that my running seems to just kick up another gear.
It's not so much that I enjoy the longer runs more, it's just that I see the biggest improvements after a long run. i wish I could get the same result from a short run. It would save me a bunch of time hehehe
It's a big commitment to take a couple of hours for a run, but I don't have too much to do at the weekend. Doing up to 10km does seem to work for me, but I need to face longer distances some time
Okay so I came here exactly after your plogging post. I commented on that post and mentioned by neighborhood.
Here is the thing, during my jogs I go through some areas where the my situation is something like yours. You mentioned about avoiding the puddles, for me its just about finding a dry effing place for my footing. After a few tries there I just switched to a different route. Running and puddles don't mix well...........high probability of an injury.
By the way, good luck with the half marathon. If possible would like to here more about that event.
I could have run on the path above this cycle track, but it really wasn't too bad. Just got my feet a bit wet. Overall this winter has not been terrible. We had snow for a few days that stopped me running as I was worried about the ice.

6min/km is a jolly solid pace Steve! Sounds like that training plan is working well for you.

It seems running more often is key to improvement. Probably applies to other skills too.

I know you favour long runs. I'll see if I can manage that

At least is stopped snowing over there, that amount of snow is rarely seen even in NYC.

We only had a little snow, but it still causes chaos. I could do without it messing up my training.
