I just finished a 11.438km run that lasted about 0hh:53mm:58ss !
After running Parkrun this morning, I decided that I'd take part in a local trail event. After looking at the results of last year's event I noticed I had a really good chance of doing quite well in it - I went into it thinking that I'd either battle for a top 3, or just run it at an easier pace as a training run.
It started off very well, and I kept the front group of 3 within grasp (thinking that they'd all just set off too fast) until about 6km in when we ran through think forest, and I was watching the ground to make sure I didn't trip over any roots and lost sight of them! I thought I'd push on, and could feel the runner behind me breathing down my neck. There was a split in the path shortly after, and without any clear indication of which way to go, I stuck to the path we were on - this turned out to be completely wrong, and I ended up back on a trail just a few metres behind the front group. Not wanting to inadvertently 'cheat', I turned around and re-ran the kilometre or so I had gone in the wrong direction. I lost any chance of a good finish, and I'm a little annoyed as it was no fault of my own, but due to the lack of marshaling/route signs. The final few kilometres I went a little bit easy, and finished with a time somewhere around 53 minutes.
A lovely route and a nice one-off run, but needless to say I won't be returning. I know it's all for fun, but the competitive nature of running is what keeps me going at it, and I didn't enjoy any of the run after getting lost.

You have uploaded 42 running activities, and 4 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:
Over these 4 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 46.06 kms at an average pace of roughly 4:36 min/km!
Looks like you went a bit slower this time! Remember that it's important to take some rest days, and do some rehab / prehab / strength and conditioning training too!

Does not matter how unfitted you are, just gently start running....

That's a shame to lose like that. You did well anyway, especially after already doing a run. I just looked at the weather this morning and decided against parkrun, but I'll run tomorrow.
