When Napoleon and Hitler attempted to take Russia, their empires crumbled. Will the United States of America risk all to win nothing?
Napoleon’s Russian Campaign
When French dictator Napoleon Bonaparte began his Russian Campaign, on June 24th, 1812, the Russian army chose to avoid conflict. It retreated and applied a scorched-earth tactic, burning everything behind it. This put a strain on the French army’s supplies. For three months, the Russians kept ceding territory until the bloody Battle of Borodino. The French won, barely, and Napoleon marched into a smoldering Moscow, set ablaze by the fleeing Russians.
I'm embarrassed for this country. I can't believe I watched the fall. I was 8 years old in 1980 when the world was at our feet, to the disgrace we see today. Americans are incurious, ignorant, arrogant, violent and petty as only a crumbling empire can signal.
Paul Craig Roberts has been posting extensively on just how dangerous it is for Russia to think that they can solve conflicts with the west with diplomacy. Neocons are fully back in control. They are agitating for war. The recent expulsion of Russian diplomats is just the most recent example. This is a gradual escalation and Americans are blissfully unconcerned and ripe for whatever consequences follow.

The United States has long been hijacked by forces looking to build a global empire, even at the expense of its own people. It won't work.
