Trouble creating Steemit account?

I've tried to create a new account twice now. I made it through the processes but have not received any e-mails yet :'(

Is the process taking longer than usual? Or what is up? :'(

    My friend is applying for registered with Steemit last 15 day ago,but till not yet received the confirmation mail.how he/she will join steemit plz suggest.

      Thank you. It has been longer than that since first attempt, but that was over weekend. I then tried again on Monday to register same account. I'll wait until next week and then break down and cry ^_^
