Story of the Sae Hey Kid

in saeheykid •  7 years ago  (edited)

This piece of stencil art was inspired by a dear friend and colleague, Leroy Tully aka Sae Hey Kid. He has a radiant heart, savage style, and the conviction to speak truth to power when the need arises - which I deeply respect and admire. The symbols and materials represent his journey (so far); from tagging trains in Boston and promoting talented guitar musicians, to vibing on the Austin art scene and discovering his gift for connecting with and empowering individuals with special needs...Tully is a dynamic being.

Made with stencils (purchased and hand-made) and Montana Cans on a repurposed drawer face (including original lionhead ring handles)
