Wisdom cries out to men: But whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm. Proverbs 1:333

King Solomon, like every wise man, sought for men to become friends of instruction and knowledge, because knowledge is the basis of everything and ignorance is the greatest misfortune for man; and this was the reason that motivated Solomon to write a very beautiful book, the Book of Proverbs, one of the most important sapiential books of the Bible along with the Book of Ecclesiastes, the Book of Wisdom and the Book of Ben Sira.
King Solomon in his Book of Proverbs began the teaching by talking about a mysterious personified wisdom, that is why in a metaphorical way Solomon tells us in his book that he received the instruction of God and the teaching of wisdom, to govern and guide the common and simple people:
"Listen, my son, to your father's instruction
and do not forsake you mother's teaching" Proverbs 1:8.
And then the book continues and tells us that this personified wisdom cries out in the highest point of the cities to educate men on the correct path:
"Out in the open wisdom calls aloud,
she raises her voice in the public square;
on top of the wall she cries out,
at the city gate she makes her speech" Proverbs 1:20-21.
But men are free to accept wisdom or not, righteousness and sin are paths in the eyes of man.
That is why this personified wisdom warns and explains that there is a path full of destructive unforeseen events and another that is safe and luminous, and here is where the intelligence of man comes into play:
"Since they hated knowledge
and did not choose to fear the LORD.
Since they would not accept my advice
and spurned my rebuke,
they will eat the fruit of their ways
and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.
For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm" Proverbs 1:29-33.
