HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT ARTISTIC PRINT FOR YOUR HOME

The art of selecting the right print to adorn your walls is not as easy as it sounds. There are many factors that you need to take into consideration, and if you don’t know what they all are, then this blog post will help make things easier for you! We have outlined some steps below on how to select the perfect print for your home.

THINK ABOUT SIZE.

Do you want to frame the print or not? If so, then that will affect your choice. For example, if you choose a very small print and try to frame it in an oversized frame, chances are it won’t look right at all! Take measurements of the wall space available in order for you to get an idea on what size prints can be hung there. You can also use our blog post about how big should art prints be when hanging them as reference too!

THINK ABOUT STYLE.

Before buying any print go around galleries and exhibitions near where you live by browsing through catalogues and flyers given out by these places; take note of pictures that catch your eye immediately because they have special which makes them unique and beautiful. This will give you a good idea on what type of prints to buy and where to start your search for them as well!

THINK ABOUT PRICE RANGE.

When selecting a print for your home, don’t just go for the cheapest one. You have to remember that once you spend money on it, this is something you will be looking at every single day in your living room or bedroom so better buy a high-quality masterpiece which fits in with how much cash flow you currently have!

THINK ABOUT COLOURS.

Think about what colours you like and if they would look nice in your home, or start to think of the different ways that your art prints could be displayed. For example, a simple black and white print can easily blend into any room decor with ease; but it doesn’t always have to stay monotone either! You can add splashes of colour by simply hanging them on top of brightly coloured walls (this will also help make even smaller rooms seem larger than ever!). Another good idea is to hang two similar prints right next to each other so when looking at one, we see another which makes us appreciate both in a whole new light!

THINK ABOUT THE SUBJECT.

What is the main subject of your print? Is it a landscape or a portrait? This can help you decide where to hang up your art. For example, if the landscape is an intensely colourful one with many different objects and elements placed in it then this would look great hung on either side of large windows so that natural light could shine through all those beautiful colours! But something simpler works well too; for example, hanging prints with just trees next to each other looks incredibly nice.

HOW MUCH ART DO I WANT UP AT ANY ONE TIME?

When we first start buying art prints, our instinct is to just buy as many as possible and put them up all over the house (which can be very time consuming), but if you don’t have enough space for too much at once then it might not be such a great idea. Instead, start with one; find out where would be the best spot to hang it up, make sure you like how it looks there and if so then buy another one! Continue doing this until your wall space is adorned with beautiful art prints.

ORIGINAL ART OR A PRINT?

First, think about the type of artwork that you’re looking to buy. If you love a particular painting by an artist and want a copy for your home, then buying a print is probably your best bet – especially if it’s out of reach in terms of budget or availability. However, there are some situations where an original is a better choice. For example, if you’re looking for something that will sell quickly at auction or in a gallery’s next event, then an original might be the way to go. Another option is a limited edition print for example an Anna Harley print. It also depends on what type of art you want and where it will hang in your home – whether it hangs over a fireplace or above a couch makes a difference in how the lighting will affect it. If you’re not sure, ask a gallery or someone who has purchased art before for their input and advice on what type of artwork they would recommend given your budget and decorating style.
